Captain Scott Self has been working professionally as a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain since 2007 and he is a former Mayor and County Commissioner of Rockwall.
Captain Self is vested with the authority to perform marriages "at sea", as has often been requested by his clients.
It is one of the most beautiful and unique ways to get married in the Dallas area.
In keeping with maritime tradition, inspired by the reflective waters of Lake Ray Hubbard and the life-long love promised between two people, Captain Self will professionally officiate a ceremony to remember always.
His soft and engaging personality guarantees a relaxed and memorable occasion, custom-tailored to your desired spiritual specifications.
Or, you may bring your own minister.
We recommend that you have your guests arrive an hour before sailing timeand enjoy a before-sailing drink at Dodie's Restaurant or at the C and B Scene bar at the Hilton Hotel. You will need to book a room at the Hotel if you want to change clothes or do any pre wedding preparation at the Hilton. The Hotel is usually completely booked and does not have any rooms that you can "use" without prior arrangement at a cost with the Hotel staff.
Then the guests walk down to the boat to board 15 minutes before the cruise departs. Captain Scott will give a 2 minute safey talk.
Five minutes before departure, the Bride can make her entrance as she boards the boat with the accompaniment of the Wedding March, or whatever music is chosen.
Seawolf has a fabulous sound system equipped with Bose speakers. Any private party is welcome to bring their music of choice on CD or iPod. We do not recommend live music because without amplification you can not hear them, and we do not have power for them to plug in their amps.
Prices, depending on departure time, range from $600 to $1,400 plus gratuity. You arrange your own caterer or bring your own food and supply your own alcohol.
The basic package includes a 1 hour and 30 minute cruise, 15 minutes for boarding before the cruise and 15 minutes after the cruise to disembark.
We have had 114 weddings on the boat and have learned what works well:
Book the 5 pm wedding - have dinner at one of the Restuarants afterwards
Bride and bridemaids wear dresses with skirts that do not blow up in the wind.
Everyone wears flip flops or flats
Party trays of food from deli shops. think finger food.
Plastic champagn glasses or small individual champagn bottles to hand out.
Can beer and soft drinks in rolling ice coolers so you can roll them to the boat and roll the leftovers off afterwards.
Bubbles to blow in the wind.
We recommend instead of a wedding cake use:
Cakes by Rosalyn is an excellent choise for cup cakes for weddings or birthday parties, she knows what works and does not work on the boat.
or:

they have wonderful cup cakes in a wedding tier.
Sail-Aways
If you get married at the Hilton Hotel or other venues around the lake, instead of driving away in a vehicle, you can book the Seawolf to sail away at the end of your reception.
Scott and Jan,
Just wanted to Thank you Again for a Beautiful Wedding on Saturday.
The Boat was Beautiful and a perfect location for ceremony of Kyle
and Danielle's wedding vows.
Scott, you did a wonderful job of preforming the wedding with a kind
and gentle presentation of beautiful thoughts and inspiration for a new
beginning of their life together.
I would love to have a copy of the sweet poem you read at the beginning of the service to put a copy in their wedding memory book.
And EVERYONE would like tell you how much we really enjoyed the "tying of the knot" That was a very special part of the whole day!
Jan, Thank you ever so much for your sweet hospitality and help with all the food and cake set up and clean up. Your sweet personality and gentleness were truly admired by all.
You two are a true Blessing to our family.
Thanks for a Beautiful Wedding Day!
Frankie Webb

165 pictures of a wedding posted on Facebook August 2010I usually begin the ceremony with this poem:
Navigate the Waters with Us, Lord
Navigate the waters with us, Lord.
Be the wind billowing our sails.
Be the seas caressing our boats.
Carry us on life’s journey.
Navigate the waters with us, Lord.
Be the north-star guiding our direction.
Be the voice of peace stilling our vessel’s storms.
Protect us on our voyage.
Navigate the waters with us, Lord.
Be the swells of justice crushing against our complacency.
Be the anchor keeping us from drifting into shallowness.
Save us from our selfishness.
Navigate the waters with us, Lord.
Be the ocean calling our fleet to work.
Be the catch teaming in our nets.
Feed us, so that others are nourished by our labor.
Navigate the waters with us, Lord.
Be the spirit of our awe and wonder.
Be the joy, hope, love and faith of our passage.
Be our Alpha and Omega.
Navigate the waters with us, Lord
